San Jose State University women’s water polo team will be competing in the LMU Invitational this weekend in Los Angeles, CA. They will face five nationally ranked teams.

The Spartans will start the tournament by facing Fresno Pacific for the first time this Friday at 8:00 a.m. at Loyola Marymount in Los Angeles.

On March 17, 2018 at Loyola Marymount No.21 Spartans (5-11) will be going against No. 23 Marist (11-10) and No.9 Michigan (14-0) who they’ve lost against at the Stanford Invitational on Feb. 4, 2018.

The Spartans had a tough competition at the Harvard Invitational where they lost two games.

It was a very close match between the Tigers and the Spartans, but No.22 Princeton took the lead during over time resulting in the final score of 8-6.

San Jose State returns to action on Friday, April 13 where they will play Arizona State at 5:00 p.m. in Saratoga, CA.

Players to watch this season is Freshmen Lili Uravari, positioned as a driver remains the only San Jose State player to score in every match this season. She is the second highest goal scoring player on the team with 18 goals.

Another player to watch out for is Junior Guara Garcia Delgado with 19 goals making her the highest scorer on the team.

The Spartans are preparing themselves to face their toughest opponent in the tournament since they’ve never beaten them yet.

On April 22, 2018 The Spartans will conclude the tournament against No.1 Stanford (4-0) at 1:00 p.m. in Saratoga, CA

Spartans are the only team in the early season to face the No.1 team in the nation.

Aria Fischer was the leading scorer for Stanford (4-0) in the non-conference match.

It will be a competitive tournament for the Spartans as they have to face their strongest opponent.
